Maj. Alan Johnson, an Army Reserve member, was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq on Jan. 26, 2007. Johnson, 44, lived in Yakima, Wash., but grew up on Montpelier, in south central North Dakota and joined the National Guard in North Dakota.
